Terms of Service

Effective July 18, 2026. We'll update this page as the product evolves.

What the Lab is (and isn't)

Figure 8 Embodiment Lab™ is a practice and reflection tool for creators, founders, authors, and speakers. It helps you rehearse defending your own work and notice how you sound doing it.

The Lab is not therapy, counseling, medical care, legal advice, financial advice, or any other professional service. Designed by a licensed clinician (LCSW). Using the Lab is not therapy, counseling, or a clinical service, and does not create a therapeutic or professional relationship. If you need professional help, please seek a qualified professional.

Your account

You need an account to use the Lab. Keep your login details secure. You're responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 18 to use the service.

Acceptable use

By using the Lab you agree not to:

  • Upload work that isn't yours to share, or that infringes anyone's rights.
  • Use the service to harass, threaten, or harm anyone.
  • Attempt to break, scrape, reverse-engineer, or overload the service.
  • Upload material that is illegal, sexual content involving minors, or intended to deceive or defraud others.

We may suspend or close accounts that misuse the service.

Your content stays yours

You own the artifacts, recordings, transcripts, and reflections in your account. We claim no ownership of your work. By using the Lab, you grant us the limited permission we need to store, process, transcribe, and display your content back to you — and to send it to the service providers named in our Privacy Policy — for the sole purpose of running the service for you. Nothing more.

AI-generated content

Questions, reflections, and Defense Cards are generated by AI from your transcripts. AI output can be wrong, incomplete, or off-key. Read it with your own judgment before acting on it or sharing it. You are responsible for how you use anything the Lab produces.

Plans, trials, and passes

New accounts get a 7-day free trial of the full Lab. After that, a free Explore tier remains available with limited monthly passes. Paid tiers add capacity and features. Current pricing, features, and limits are on the Plans page and may change over time. Payments and refunds are handled by Stripe.

Termination

You can stop using the Lab at any time and request account deletion through the Report a problem button in the app, or by emailing support@fig8lab.app. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or that we're required to remove by law.

Service "as is"

The Lab is provided as-is, without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or fit for any particular purpose. To the maximum extent allowed by law, Figure 8 Intelligence™, its team, and its providers are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Illinois.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product evolves. When we make a meaningful change we'll update the effective date at the top and, where reasonable, let you know in the app or by email. Continuing to use the Lab after a change means you accept the new terms.
